Why join? Funds from the Membership fee directly impacts the ways in which we are able to enhance the learning experience for all children attending Smallwood. Being a part of the PTA is a great way to be in the know about what’s new and what’s next at Smallwood.

A standard yearly membership is $10 for an individual.  Donate to the PTA by becoming a member (and adding a donation to your membership) -OR- by making an open donation.

Becoming a member does not require you to volunteer.  When volunteer opportunities arise, we will email the membership and you can sign up if your schedule permits.

Attending the SDS PTA meetings is the best way to stay in the know about what’s new and what’s next at Smallwood. All SDS PTA Members are welcome to attend, participate, share ideas…or just listen. 

PTA meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. in person in the Smallwood library, unless otherwise noted. Childcare will be provided in the cafeteria.

September - Kindergarten Playdate
An informal, fun-filled, playdate at the playground. This is the perfect opportunity for our kindergarteners to break the ice, make new friends, and build comfort with familiar faces before the busy school year begins. Parents, it’s also a great chance to connect and chat while the kids enjoy some free play and popsicles.

October - Fall Fest
Fun for the whole family, this annual action-packed event will feature obstacle courses, face painting, fall arts & crafts, teacher raffles, a DJ and dance party, food trucks and so much more.

November - Fuel Our Teachers!
Parent/Teacher Conference time means long days for our teachers. The PTA helps keep them going by providing healthy food and snacks. We will provide a SignUpGenius link for those who would like to participate.

December - Book Fair
Looking for a holiday gift for your child's teacher, or just want to help build a classroom library? Shop at the Smallwood Drive School Book Fair.

March - SilverGraphics Art Shop
SilverGraphics is a unique art fundraiser that commemorates student artwork and supports the mission of our PTA. Smallwood families can treasure products customized with their children’s artwork. March - Fuel Our Teachers!

March - The Annual Smallwood Sing-Off and Ice Cream Social
So you think your teacher has talent? Come see the SDS faculty and staff perform. This family-fun event will include your favorite teachers rocking out your favorite hits followed by an ice cream social after the show.

May - Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week
Featuring a catered lunch, gift card raffle, homemade signs, sidewalk chalk decor - and more - this is our week to say than you to each teacher and staff member for making Smallwood School GREAT.
